Canada GST/HST receipt

Record a payment in Canadian dollars. The CRA says a receipt can show whether GST/HST is included. This page does not choose the rate.

Official sources

AllForm does not replace these sources, and the PDF is not filed for you.

What you type stays in this browser. The server does not keep the PDF.

Payer
Recipient

Choosing a country opens that page and keeps what you have typed.

The amount received stays the number you type. A tax row is the part already included in that amount.

Type the combined GST or HST rate. Add a provincial rate only when it is charged separately. Do not split an HST rate.

How to fill this in

Enter the payer, the recipient, the GST/HST number you already have, the date received, and the amount paid. The currency starts as CAD. The amount received is not changed after you type it.

The CRA says to show the GST/HST as included or as its own amount, and not to split an HST rate into federal and provincial parts. Type the combined rate to show the included portion. A separate provincial tax is not added on top of this receipt. The information a registrant needs for an input tax credit depends on the sale amount. This page does not apply those thresholds and does not guarantee a credit.

Choose A4 or US Letter before you download. Empty dates, rates, and business numbers stay empty.

FAQ

Is GST/HST added again to the amount received?

No. The figure you type is the payment. The tax row is the included part.

Should I split HST on the receipt?

No. Type the combined rate. This receipt does not print a second provincial tax on top.

Does this receipt guarantee an input tax credit?

No. Whether a document supports a credit depends on the supply and the amount. This page does not make that decision.
