Canada GST/HST invoice template
Write a Canadian invoice in Canadian dollars. The page does not assume one tax rate for every province and territory.
Official sources
AllForm does not replace these sources, and the PDF is not filed for you.
What you type stays in this browser. The server does not keep the PDF.
Choosing a country opens that page and keeps what you have typed.
Type the combined GST or HST rate. Add a provincial rate only when it is charged separately. Do not split an HST rate.
How to fill this in
The CRA explains that the GST/HST rate follows the place of supply, and that an HST rate is shown as one combined rate. Do not split HST into a federal part and a provincial part. If you are registered, set GST/HST registered to Yes, type the combined rate for this supply, and enter the GST/HST number you already have.
Add a second rate only when a provincial tax, such as PST, is charged on top of GST. Name that tax if the default label is not the one you charge. If you are not registered, leave the registration as No or Not stated so the PDF has no GST/HST row. This page does not choose a provincial rate, including Nova Scotia's HST, for you.
Choose A4 or US Letter before you download. Empty dates, rates, and business numbers stay empty.
FAQ
Is there one Canadian tax rate?
No. GST, HST, and separate provincial taxes depend on the place of supply and on whether you are registered.
Should I split an HST rate?
No. Type the combined HST rate in the GST/HST field.
Where does the GST/HST number come from?
From your own registration. The page does not generate a number.
