UK invoice template
Prepare a UK invoice in pounds. A VAT row is added only after you say the supplier is VAT registered and you type a rate.
Official sources
AllForm does not replace these sources, and the PDF is not filed for you.
What you type stays in this browser. The server does not keep the PDF.
Choosing a country opens that page and keeps what you have typed.
VAT is shown in the selected currency. This page does not convert the VAT amount to sterling.
How to fill this in
GOV.UK describes what an ordinary invoice needs: who sold, who bought, a unique invoice number, the dates, what was supplied, and the amounts. Those fields are on this page, and the currency starts as GBP.
A VAT invoice is the extra record a VAT-registered supplier issues. VAT Notice 700/21 sets out the VAT particulars, including the supplier's VAT number and the VAT charged. Mark VAT registered as Yes and type the rate to print that row. The page does not convert the VAT into sterling. If you are not VAT registered, leave the answer as No or Not stated and the PDF stays an invoice without VAT.
Choose A4 or US Letter before you download. Empty dates, rates, and business numbers stay empty.
FAQ
What is the difference between an invoice and a VAT invoice?
An invoice asks the customer to pay. A VAT invoice is issued by a VAT-registered business and shows the VAT particulars.
I am not VAT registered. What should I choose?
Do not set VAT registered to Yes. No VAT row is printed.
Will the VAT amount be turned into pounds?
No. VAT is shown in the currency selected on the page.
